Unlocking behaviors of long-term service consumers : the role of action inertia

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to examine the antecedents of word-of-mouth (WOM) in long-term service settings. Specifically, the authors examine the moderating role of action inertia in the relationships between satisfaction and repatronage intention, satisfaction and WOM, and repatronage intention and WOM. An analytical model of a new packet marking algorithm for TCP flows: Preliminary insights

In differentiated services networks, packet marking schemes can be devised to differentiate packets belonging to a same TCP flow, with the goal of improving the experienced performance. This paper presents an analytical model for an adaptive packet marking scheme proposed in our previous work. The model combines three specific sub-models aimed at describing i) the TCP sources aggregate ii) the marker, and iii) the network status. Some preliminary simulative results seem to validate the model.

This paper presents a resource management mechanism aimed at improving the effectiveness of streaming services in vehicular networks. The scenario considered in this paper is that of a group of customers located into a same public vehicle, e.g. a moving train connected to the network via a satellite link, and requesting either video-on-demand-like services, as well as real-time diffusive (broadcast) streaming services. This paper studies the market scope of vendors that produce software for telecommunications operators, i.e. the Operations Support Systems (OSS) market. The aim is to find out the strategies used by vendors in the OSS market. The market scope is studied on two dimensions: 1) the breadth of the scope in the OSS market; and 2) focus on the telecommunications industry.
